Brevity is the soul of wit – here’s your chance to prove it with B-Side’s Twitter Film Review Contest for South by Southwest 2009.

Grand Prize: Two all-access passes to another great Festival Genius partner festival, the Atlanta Film Festival (April 16th – 25th), and a $50 gift card to the Alamo Drafthouse!

The Rules

1. Films must be playing in the SXSW 2009 lineup.

Find a handy list of all those films at the Festival Genius site for South by Southwest 2009.

2. Entrants must be followers of the official contest Twitter account, @festg.

or

3. Users may enter one review per film during the official contest period, which is March 13-23, 2009.

Review as many different films as you like, but just one review per film. Make sure you send us your best stuff. We want honest opinions and devastating wit honed down to those magical 140 characters.

4. An entry consists of two tweets, both addressed as @replies to @festg.

The first tweet identifies the film by title and rates the film from one to five stars (five being best). (We didn’t want the title of the film taking away from your precious 140 characters in your review.) Please tag this tweet with the hash tag #sxsw.

The first tweet should look like this:

@festg rate [title of film] [numeric score] #sxsw

example:

The second tweet is your review. It should follow directly after the first tweet in your twitter stream and also be addressed to @festg.

5. Each night at midnight a winning tweet of the day will be selected by B-Side staff.

The winner will be notified via Twitter, and the winning tweet announced the next morning. The daily tweet winners will receive a Festival Genius t-shirt.

6. At the end of the festival, a grand prize winner will be selected by the judges from among the daily tweet winners.

Grand prize winner will be notified no later than March 27th 2009.

Optional: if you have an account with the B-Side Festival Genius, send a direct message to @festg with your bside.com user name. We’ll take note of it and when we turn on the Twitter magic later this year you’ll be one of the first to be sprinkled with fairy dust.
